10. International Chocolate Festival

Hey everyone!

This past week was a pretty busy one at UNE, and exciting too. I had my Midterm Meditation for my floor which turned out pretty well. It was extremely relaxing and my residents loved it! I had one of our faculty members come in and she did a guided meditation with us. I almost fell asleep, but not quite. It was such a good break at a good time because I was getting pretty stressed out with the school work and exams, and it seemed like a lot of my residents were in need of it as well. On Wednesday night I brought my floor to the International Chocolate Festival. The international club on campus had the multi-purpose rooms all set up with games similar to the ones you would find at amusement parks and there was also a limbo competition. For every game that you won or for every question you answered correctly, you would receive a certain amount of tickets and once you had a bunch of tickets you could head over to the chocolate "salesmen" and could "purchase" the most delicious chocolate from around the world with the tickets you won. The chocolate cost anythin from 1 to about 50 tickets or so depending on size and quality. They also had a chocolate fountain that you could dip fruit and pretzels and other things in for free, so that was a definite plus. Overall it was a really fun time and here is a video from that night.....

Thursday night was our annual Thanksgiving Dinner on campus, which is the best meal you could ever have here. They set up all of the food in the cafe function rooms which are off to the side of the dining hall, you go through the line and grab whatever you want, find a seat somewhere in the upper cafe and then professors and other faculty/staff members come around and serve you your drinks and dessert. They get assigned to a couple of tables and their only job is to wait on the students. It's a lot of fun and all of the residents really look forward to it every year. It's a great way for faculty and staff to get involved with their students outside of the classroom and of course students love to make their professors get things for them after doing all of the school work for the professors! So just like every other year, Thanksgiving dinner was a huge success and I'm really glad that I was able to go again this year.

Hope all is well with you all, I'm getting excited for Thanksgiving break as I'm sure most of you are as well, so travel safely to wherever you may be going and enjoy your holiday!!
