So for the long weekend, after I gave a tour Saturday morning, my parents came to pick me up so that I could go home for my neighbor's annual tailgating party for the Patriots game on Sunday.
When I got home on Saturday afternoon, my older sister and I went to get our ears pierced, which now makes ten ear piercings for me and I think about six for my sister. Then we went to visit my aunt and cousin because every time we get new piercings we go show my aunt who thinks they are disgusting. It's just become a bit of a tradition. After that, we went back to my house to meet our German exchange student who is staying with my family for the next two weeks. He is a little bit shy, but I totally understand having been in his shoes twice already in the past. The first few days are a little overwhelming since you have never met these people before in your life. On Sunday, after church of course, we headed over to my neighbor's for the tailgating party. He always rents a blow up slide or bounce house. For the past two years he's gotten the slide, so of course the younger crowd spent most of their time on it. He also has a couple of competitions where you can win prizes like Celtics tickets. This year they played bags and competed to see who could kick the farthest field goal. The first video is a 30 second clip of bags for those of you who aren't familiar with the game.
This next video is my sister's boyfriend on the slide. He's a bit of a dare devil, so you'll hear my sister in the background telling him not to do what he's going to anyways...
This last video is another one from the slide. It's my mom trying to run up, but gets a little help from my sister, her boyfriend, my cousin and another kid who was on the slide at the time.
Fall long weekend is a really nice break from the stress of the first month of school, so I'm glad I got to spend it with my family. Now I probably won't see them again until Thanksgiving Break, but even though I wait a long time, it makes the time I spend with them that much better, so I'm definitely looking forward to Thanksgiving. And hopefully in the next few weeks my grandparents will come up to visit too! |
