Alyssa

Hey everyone!

Welcome to my blog. My name is Alyssa and I am a sophomore in the Occupational Therapy program.

I am from Salem, NH (aka the main place to shop in southern NH and northern MA). However, I don't really love to shop, but I do love to clean (my mother wouldn't agree). But at school, I'm a complete neat freak about my room. I try to stay pretty active at the gym. I played sports all through my childhood and most of my high school career, so I like to participate in a lot of athletics, though I don't actually play for any of our school teams. Mostly just recreational stuff. At home I work at an outpatient physical and occupational therapy clinic and I love my job, so it's always nice to go back for winter and summer breaks. Other than that, I'm pretty much just a normal college student- homework, friends, facebook, and sleep are my life for the most part.

I'm involved in a lot of stuff here on campus. Things like Hall Council, and the school's newspaper (The Nor'easter News), and I am a Resident Advisor (RA) for one of the first year residence halls. I have two work study jobs. Blogging being one of them and I am also a tour guide, so if you come to visit the campus (which I hope you will) maybe I'll be your guide!

I'm pretty busy with all of that stuff, but when I do have some down time I spend most of my time hanging out with my friends and studying for classes.

UNE has really been a home away from home for me for the past year and a half. There is always something going on up here. Yes, even on the weekends. Believe it or not, a lot of our residents do like to stay on campus for the weekends. The faculty and staff here are wonderful. Everyone is willing to help you out, talk, and they are all extremely supportive. I have great relationships with a lot of the faculty and students here, and I couldn't see myself anywhere else.

So read some of my blogs, see what's been going on, and check out our brand new UNE homepage at www.une.edu!
